What This Coffee Tastes Like

Sumatran Earth is a single origin coffee from the Aceh region of northern Sumatra, Indonesia, known for producing coffees with depth, body, and a distinctive earthy character.

Processed using the traditional semi-washed method, this coffee delivers low acidity, heavy mouthfeel, and savoury complexity, making it a natural choice for darker roasts and espresso-focused brewing.

Roast Profile

Dark Roast

Deep and earthy with a heavy body and low acidity. The dark roast emphasises Sumatra’s signature profile, delivering dark cocoa flavours, rich earthiness, and warm cedar spice.

This roast produces a dense, weighty cup with a long finish, well suited to those who prefer bold, grounding flavours with minimal brightness.

Espresso Roast

Intense and full-bodied with pronounced depth and structure. Roasted specifically for espresso, this profile brings forward dark chocolate richness, tobacco-like notes, and cedar wood character.

Ideal for espresso and milk-based drinks, this roast delivers strong presence, thick mouthfeel, and a lingering finish without sharp acidity.

Roasting Schedule

We roast fresh batches every Saturday to ensure peak flavor and quality. After roasting, we allow the coffee to degas for two days before shipping.

Shipping & Delivery

Orders with Available Inventory: Shipped the next business day (excluding Sundays and Mondays).

Orders Requiring Fresh Roast: If your coffee is not in stock, it will be included in our next Saturday roast and shipped on Tuesday after degassing.

All coffee shipped is within five days of its roast date for optimal freshness.
